FAQ's

Paylessholiday is a social travel network with e commerce platform to collect and share travel ideas, dream  and collaborate on your travel plans with the people in your life who know you best. It's a full-circle travel experience that takes you from dreaming to doing.

Paylessholiday has two main features - travel inspiration boards and a trip planning tool. Travel boards are visual collections of places where you've been or want to go. You can start creating your travel boards by clicking the "want" or "been" button on the images of places you see on Paylessholiday. Get creative and create your own custom boards, too, based on any theme you'd like. Whether it's restaurants you want to feast at in Paris, or beaches you want to visit around the world, there's a board waiting to be created!

Trips are travel plans that allow you to create a trip itinerary based on the places you're considering, which can be shared with your friends to collaborate on ideas and recommendations. You can easily create trips by clicking on "create a trip" at the bottom of any page and following the guide. Trips also work with our full-featured iPhone app so that you can view your travel plans and create trip albums on the go, allowing you to take your friends along for the ride!

Travel boards are visual collections of places where you've been or want to go. As you start to click the "want" and "been" buttons for places, two boards are automatically created -- "Places I've been" and "Places I want to go", and you also have the option of adding those places to custom boards as well.

You can create as many custom boards as you like, based on any theme that inspires you. Whether it's for Hawaiian beaches, San Francisco dive bars, patisseries in Paris, or a round-up of the best pizzerias or art galleries that you've ever experienced and want to share with your friends, there's a board waiting to be created, so get creative!

Travel boards are here to help inspire and collect travel ideas and here are three simple guidelines to follow to ensure the quality of the Paylessholiday travel boards community:

Always credit the photo's original source

Because it's the right thing to do and Paylessholiday makes it easy! Here's how: simply use our bookmarklet on the original source of the photo versus a secondary source. For example, it's best to add photos directly from a blog instead of from a Google image search. That way Paylessholiday can pick up the original link and accurately and automatically credit the correct source.

See a gorgeous photo of the Eiffel Tower as you're surfing the web? Instead of typing "Paris, France" when you add it to your board, type in "Eiffel Tower" specifically. Adding specific spots will allow you to add so many more places and travel inspiration to your boards. Makes a lot more sense when the photos show up around the site too!

Pick beautiful & awesome photos

As a general rule of thumb, try to avoid photos with text or watermarks on them. Other than that, beauty and awesomeness are in the eye of the beholder, so choose visually rich and inspiring images that inspire you to travel!

Travel boards can be made by going to the "Your Boards" page and clicking on "create another board". Travel boards can also be created when you add places to your board from the site or through the Paylessholiday bookmarklet as you surf the web. When you're adding places, simply scroll to the bottom of your list of boards, which you'll see in the pop up layer, and click on "create a new board"

A fun and easy way to add places to the board is through our bookmark, which you can pick up here. Simply drag and drop it onto your browser's bookmark or favorites bar and you're good to go! As you're surfing the web and you see photos of places that inspire you, just click on the Paylessholiday bookmark button on your browser to add those images onto your travel board.

You can also add places straight from Paylessholiday's homepage or from the travel boards of other Paylessholiday members by hovering over photos and clicking on "want" or "been." The place will be automatically added to your "Places I want to go" or "Places I've been" boards, and you also have the option to add it to one of your custom boards as well. When you're adding places, simply scroll to the bottom of your list of boards, which you'll see in the pop up layer, and select one of your custom boards or create a new one.
